Shattered Dreams in Kota

Rajan goes to Kota to prepare for JEE. He wanted to study at IIT. He starts his studies in Kota's coaching center and stays in a hostel. He studies with all his hard work. He also makes some friends there. They all concentrate on their studies. They study for 10-12 hours and make notes. They have tests every month. They are agitated about their tests. Many students are unable to bear this pressure. Due to this, they turn to drugs. Initially, they take drugs when they feel sleepy due to stress but the pressure of studying becomes so much that they become addicted to drugs. One of them was Harsh who was Rajan's friend who became a victim of drugs to reduce his pressure because he was failing the test repeatedly. The same was the case with Rajan. Rajan has also been failing all his tests. It had been 2 years since they started preparing for JEE. Raman and Mayank pass their tests. He was also Rajan's friend. And he asks Raman, "Friend, I also studied with you. I still failed, and you passed. What should I do now so that I also pass my test? My parents have sent me here to study by taking money from people." After some time Harsh's phone rings. Harsh picks up the phone. His parents ask about his well-being and his studies because JEE exam is next month. They explain to their son that you should study well and take the exam with preparation. Study with full concentration. You will clear JE. Son, hard work never goes to waste. Harsh feels very relaxed after listening to his parents. Friends, my parents have sent me to study with so many hopes and after coming here I got trapped in the wrong thing like drugs. I should not betray my parents. He thinks that from now on I will study well and will pass. He starts studying with all his hard work but he has become addicted to drugs. Harsh was now struggling between his studies, his addiction to drugs, and his parents' dreams and trust. When he could not control himself, he resorted to drugs, but he immediately controlled himself threw away the drugs, and studied diligently. On the other hand, Rajan focused on his studies because he had also failed all the tests so far. Rajan changed his study methods a bit because he was not getting results with the previous method of studying. He increased his studies by 2 more hours. Now he studies for 12-14 hours, he also does his religion and takes his tests. He is seeing the benefits of studying in this way because he can solve the old papers, which increases his confidence. He studies even better because his confidence was broken due to failing all the tests earlier. But now he started feeling that he would clear the paper. The date of their exam also came. Today was the exam for all of them. After completing their paper, they come back to their room. All the friends gather and tell Raman and Mayank that our paper went well but Harsh's paper did not go well. Raman and Mayank say that our paper is today, we are all free today. Why don't we go somewhere for a walk, then we will go home. They all agree but after a few hours of their paper being over, everyone gets a call from home. All the parents ask about their children's paper, how was your paper? Will you pass this time or not? They say the paper went well. Rajan's parents ask Rajan how was your paper. Will you pass this time or will you fail this time too? Rajan says no Dad, this time my paper went well. Study with all your hard work, give your 100%, and don't worry. Harsh's parents call. They ask Harsh, how are your papers? You failed last time, you will not fail this time, we have invested a lot of money in your studies. We don't have any more money to waste on you. We have sent you there to study, not to do drugs. What if you fail this time too? How will we face our neighbors and relatives? They will make fun of us. They will say that they made their son an engineer. Harsh was listening to everything his parents were saying silently, but he was breaking down from within and was dying a little bit. Harsh's parents did not try to understand him even once. Harsh himself told his parents about the drug addiction. He had said, I will now study with full hard work and dedication. But his parents could not understand his courage. They were only worried about social status and money. Every dream breaks after listening to the parents and he feels that he wasted all his parents' money. I am not worthy of anything. When they come to know that I have failed this time too, they will never forgive me and people will make fun of me, that is a different matter. How will I face them? I am the reason for all their troubles. Let my result come and let them know that I have failed. Before that, I should die. If I die then no one will say anything to them. No one will make fun of them and they will not have to waste money on me. Thinking all this, he hangs himself and writes in his suicide note. I am sorry mummy papa, I could not fulfill your dreams. I am not worth anything. Forgive me, I wasted your money and your dreams too. Mummy Papa, it is not that I did not try. I studied with all my hard work. I also gave up drugs. In between, many times I felt like taking drugs. But then I remembered you, people, with how much trust you have sent me to study. I cannot cheat you people and I started studying. When I told you about my drug addiction, after that day I never took drugs, but today after listening to you people I felt as if I am the worst son in this world who is worthless. Forgive me for all my mistakes, I am sorry Mummy Papa. His suicide note is kept under the photo of his parents. On the other side, unaware of all this, Rajan, Mayank, and Raman were busy having fun. They wandered around and thought of going to their room. Raman says that Harsh did not come with us. Why don't you take us ice cream, we will sit and eat with him? All three of them take ice cream and come towards the room. Rajan looks towards the window of the room and gets shocked. They run and look at Raman and Mayank and then run towards the room and go inside the room and see that Harsh was hanging from the noose. By the time they saw, Harsh was dead. They call the police and Harsh's house and tell them everything. The police have started their investigation. They find a suicide note there, which they photocopy and give a copy to Harsh's family. After reading it, Harsh's parents regret what they had said. But now there was no use regretting, if they had spoken lovingly to Harsh at that time, then today Harsh would not have taken a single step, he would have been alive today. His parents were saying one thing repeatedly that their son had died because of him. Listening to them, Mayank and Rajan started reading that letter, they also got very angry with themselves why did they leave Harsh alone? They should have taken him with them forcefully or they should have stayed there themselves. Rajan and Mayank tell his parents that Harsh has stopped taking drugs and now he is studying with full hard work. We thought that he would clear JEE. Harsh's parents say Son what difference does it make now? Now Harsh is not among us, he has left us all. Who is responsible for this step of Harsh? The pressure of studies or the pressure of parents? What is going on in a child's mind? What would be his state of mind when he decided to commit suicide? Was there not a single person around him to whom he could tell his feelings openly? A parent raises their children with great care, but then what happens is that they are unable to understand them. They do not share their feelings with their parents. Now no matter what happens, another student commits suicide.
