10 Gurus of Sikhism
The organization was established by Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, to propagate the religion.
Names of 10 Gurus of Sikhism:-
1.Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji (1469-1538 AD):-
Guru Nanak's disciple Langar Vyasaya introduced Guru Mukh script made of ink.
2.Shri Guru Angad Dev Ji(1538-1581 AD):-
Guru Angad Dev Ji's disciple advised his disciple to be a family saint and started the salt method.
3.Shri Guru Amar Das Ji(1552-1574 AD):-
Akbar was very impressed by him. Akbar gave him 500 bighas of land in 1577 AD which had a natural pond. It was here that Amrit Nagar was established. The post of Guru became that of Father God.
4.Shri Guru Ramdas Ji(1574-1581 AD):-
He made the Sikh sect powerful. He got the resolution of the teachings of his first Guru in the Adi Granth in 1604 AD. He got Harmandar Saheb Keeniv installed in Amritsar by Sufi saints and Amirs. He started the practice of taking 10% of their income as charity from the Sikhs. To bless the Khusro rebellion. Because of the siege in 1606 AD, he ordered his son Hargobind to sit armed and form an army.
5.Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji(1581-1606 AD):-
The Guru made the Sikhs a military sect, allowed his followers to take horses and weapons instead of forests, allowed them to eat meat, and led to conflict with Shahjahan due to the Budj episode.
6.Shri Guru Hargobind Rai(1606-1645 AD):-
Helped Dhara when she fled to Punjab after being defeated in Samugarh.
7.Shri Guru Hari Rai Ji (1645-1661 AD):-
There was a dispute with elder brother Ram Rai over the throne.
8.Shri Guru Hari Krishna Ji(1661-1664 AD):-
He opposed the religious policies of Aurangzeb and for not accepting Islam, the Guru was murdered in 1675 AD.
9.Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji(1664-1675 AD):-
Bahul Pratham was born in Patna. In this, the initiated person was called Khalsa and after the name he was given the title of Singh. Khalsa was formed in 1699 AD.
10.Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji(1675-1708 AD):-
Char Sahibzade Guru Gobind Singh Ji has four sons, Ajit Singh, Jujhar Singh, Zorawar Singh, Fateh Singh.
When two young Sikh sons converted to Islam, Aurangzeb had them crucified alive on the wall and two Sikh sons were martyred in the war. Their martyrdom is celebrated as Balveer Day from 21st December to 26th December.
